Cheesy mugs. Tacky shirts. Greeting cards. Everyone hates these cliché Christmas gifts. But what everyone loves is KFC’s new holiday special: the Parmesan Truffle Chicken.
SO We encouraged gift givers to gift the Parmesan Truffle Chicken instead, by turning bad gifts into our new advertising media.
Instead of posters and flyers, we used cheesy mugs, tacky shirts, greeting cards, photo frames, and snow globes to talk to shoppers. Every time they picked up a bad gift, they saw our message – as well as a code that led them to KFC Delivery, so they can pick up the Parmesan Truffle instead.
What started as a simple shop IG SHOP HIJACK Became something much bigger. The activation was so well-received, KFC turned it into a full campaign – one that INCLUDES A FILM THAT WAS ROLLED OUT NATIONWIDE.
